Trump expects Russia to return Crimea to Ukraine: White House

U.S. President Donald Trump made it clear he expects Russia to return Crimea to Ukraine and reduce violence in Ukraine, White House spokesman Sean Spicer said on Tuesday.

"President Trump has made it very clear that he expects the Russian government to de-escalate violence in the Ukraine and return Crimea," Spicer said at a daily news briefing. "At the same time, he fully expects to and wants to get along with Russia."

Of course, that won't actually happen.  At least not unless someone finds another Black Sea port for the Russian fleet and gets Russia to take it and probably a lot of other goodies in exchange.

Then again, maybe we can give them the deal they were supposed to get at the end of WWI, before the Bolsheviks screwed everything up, and let them have Constantinople if they give back the Crimea.

It won't happen as long as Putin or like politicians are in control and in all likelihood, they will continue to control for some time in the future. Some opposition figures have stated they would return Crimea. This is a bit of an important story nonetheless.

There certainly isn't much on this story except for a small blurb.

They could easily have kept the port without taking Crimea and invading Ukraine in the process
