Only when Trump came along, did it essentially become #nevertrump with yet another change of mission, to "political forum," although different places, use different definitions.

A lot of conservatives, mostly Republicans, some freshly abandoning that party, came here because we were either kicked out of or made unwelcome at other sites.
At least some of that contingent of conservatives had no use for Trump because we did not think him conservative enough.
So far he is doing fairly well, and we'll see how that goes, but we remain Conservative, whether we are in support of Trump or not because Conservatism is based on a set of principles, not a person.

But, despite that being pointed out to you, you are still hung up on the # bit. Get over it.

No, @CatherineofAragon, Ronald Reagan is not a natural choice for a GOP of all stripes.  Ronald Reagan is a Conservative icon.  If this is not a Conservative site, then it would be reasonable to remove Reagan's photo from the masthead.

I don't think a banner with the image of Nelson Rockefeller, Bob Dole, Richard Nixon, or Gerald Ford would have the same impact, do you?

Really?  Well, let's see.

Schumer is pro-abortion, pro-manmade global warming, for higher taxes, believes in income inequality, is pro-gay rights and gay marriage, anti-school choice,  pro-EPA, anti-gun, pro-nationalized healthcare, pro-illegal immigration, and on and on.  For Schumer to be on TBR's banner, a majority of the posters here would have to agree with those positions.

Agreed. Scoped rifle, good binoculars, long distance is the next best thing to being there. Sometimes you can see more from further away, and in the past a single shot has made a difference. If it comes to that and I can get three before they get me, it's a good start.

The push and pull of front line combat is mainly the province of younger men, and at this point I'm not sure I could get back into the same shape I was in in my early 20s.

None of us could do that, I'm afraid.   But in every war, there are combatants that do what they can....which is better than doing nothing.   And I suspect that.... the pent up anger and frustration, over these past decades, should act as a sort of adrenaline rush to help many keep up.  And never underestimate the power of adrenaline.  For some of us that haven't felt that rush in decades.... it could kill us! lolol

I'm pretty sure at this point in time - with Trump winning a decisive Electoral victory, and choosing conservative people to fill key gov't positions - along with his promises on a border wall and illegal immigration - that Reagan would be supportive of President Trump right now, at this point in time. 

I do not think Ronald Reagan would like, or approve of the garbage I see on here all too frequently - citing outright fake news against the President and his family, of using Leftist media sources to continue to deride and tear down our Republican President, who now has a GOP Congress to work with. 

In fact, I would LOVE to hear President Ronald Reagan's opinion on some of these threads and the insults they contain to our Republican President.  Even most of Trump's opponents have turned to supporting our President.  Reagan would have no patience with this "resistance" movement that is all too predominant here.

If you consider the 'three for me' idea, that could have a serious affect, especially with accurate long distance fire.

If you don't have the tactical mobility of your adversary, rely on stealth, distance, cunning, your knowledge of the terrain and the area, and keep them at arm's length or further rather than let them in close. Don't play to their advantages, play to yours. Blend in. Be invisible in plain sight.

The atrocities which inevitably follow will strengthen the resolve of others, it's how we Americans are wired. The adversary will lose.

An army of active grandkids (and great-grandkids) keep that adrenaline rush not so far away. Under that influence I can move like I did in my 20s, I just can't move that fast or lift that much all day like I could then.

If you find it fascinating, If you find Schumer acceptable, if YOU want him on the masthead, might I suggest you'd feel more at home at DU, where you can snipe at conservatives all day.
Anyone who swears an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and makes a career of  striving to infringe the Constitutional Rights of decent and law-abiding Americans has not only violated that oath, but when called on it continued to do so. That makes him a Traitor in my book.
Of course, those in sympathy with him might not see it that way, and it was YOUR suggestion.

Those of us who did not support Trump here did not do so because of his Liberal Past (and donations to people like...Chuck Schumer.)
