One US soldier dead, three injured in raid in Yemen: military

One US soldier died and three were injured in a raid in Yemen, the United States military said Sunday, adding that 14 members of Al-Qaeda were also killed.

A local Yemeni official had reported that the raid left 41 suspected Al-Qaeda militants and 16 civilians dead, among them eight women and eight children.

I heard a little about this, Saudi Arabia is under attack from Yemen.

I have mixed feelings as to how much of a concern Yemen is of ours.

That hard landing that is mentioned in some of these articles on this incident could have been the cause for the injuries and perhaps for the US fatality as well.

The Fort Hood shooter, Abu Nidal communicated with Al Awlaki, the US born (of foreign Yemeni parents who were students) Al Qaeda kingpin killed in 2011. This must have been some operation, I think I read in one place, multiple helicopters; and then, we did get some important figure in this attack.
