Yayyyyy!  I fed my ten cars early!  But they hop and bop on me all night.  Two are kittens.  Someone help me.  Oh, @Freya

Oh @Slip18 I'm so sorry!  I wish I could come over and play with them,

Speaking of cats and baseball, anyone see this kitty  ?

Oh wait...it was a football game last night, but adorable!!!!!

Which begs the question- what are all these stray cats doing on pro ball fields?

And the biggest Human interest baseball story of the year is:

31-year-old Astros catcher who won his first World Series had a wild journey that included a rehab stint and working as a janitor and ski lift operator

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Lost everything again on this Baby Kindle.  Arggghhhh!  Just finished reading a great short story from a book by Elden Auker with Tom Keegan.  The book is called -- underscore. Sleeper Cars and Flannel Uniforms --/ underscore.

Now I am going to bring my baseball friends in here, again, Ladies' first.  Then I will send that out then start my version of the Babe Ruth story.  I am not even looking at the book, so I don't feel like I am stealing anything from anyone, just telling a story I read.

Here is my ping list:

@catfish1957

I do not want to lose this!  Next post, please!

So picture yourselves as a team player for the Yankees during the Babe Ruth era.

While on the road with the team, all the players had to share a room.  For three years they could not get any player to share a room with Babe because of his late night eating and drinking.  He also had gastrointestinal problems that would keep you awake all night because of the noise and, umm, aroma.  Got that?

So finally one year they found a rookie who was fine with Babe.  He lasted almost three years!  The managers and all of the staff were ecstatic, to say the least for those almost three years.

But towards the end of that third season, Babe was noticing things missing from his room.  In those days (and I hope to this day) every item of anything was sacred to each player.  No one borrowed anything without getting permission first.  One off the quotes was, "I could leave a $1000 bill on the floor in the locker room.  When I came back, it would be in the exact spot where I had left it.". That was how honest these players were.

So, Babe noticed certain things missing from his room.  Babe decided to catch a thief (who wrote that book -- oops). Babe marked five $100 bills and left his expensive watch laying around the room.  He suspected his fine roommate, but was not sure.

Babe gets home one night late after partying heartily, but noticed the money and watch were missing.  His roommate was fast asleep.  He checked his roommate's pockets.  Sure enough, he found the missing money and the watch.

So his roommate that everyone loved so well for being able to even stay in a room with Babe was thrown out of baseball for-e-ver. I did steal that phrase from Sandlot.  LOL!

A few years later and a lot of pleading by this young player got him back into The Game.

Ya wanna guess who that player was?  Quite famous.

Hehehe!  Cliff hanger.

I do not want to lose this!

I found a typo, but can't find it now...

Fond the error, but can't find it again on this small device.  "Off" should be "of" in there somewhere.  Oh, well!

Would you ping me?  I'm dying to find out who it is!
Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

Please, it was Leo Durocher.

Who eventually graduated from stealing watches to stealing a pennant. ;)
