Refugees detained at US airports after Trump exec order
By Brooke Seipel - 01/28/17 08:45 AM EST

Refugees traveling into the U.S. on Friday night were being detained at airports after President Trump's executive order immediately closed the nation's borders to refugees.

Two Iraqi refugees detained at Kennedy Airport in New York have filed a writ of habeas corpus seeking to be released, The New York Times reported Saturday.

They also filed a motion for class certification, to represent all refugees and immigrants being detained at ports of entry.

I wonder how many of the people who are going to be against this, are also very proud of the fact that their ancestors entered the US through Ellis Island?

(And I say this as a person who's nervous about how ham-handed Trump's actions seem to be.....)

Iran has a Christian Pastor in jail as we speak and I doubt they allow Christian Churches to be built. Yes, maybe people come here for religious freedom and in general; I have little problems with the Iranians, I saw pictures of them.

It seems to me that there needs to be a procedure to vet and work with those that did have Visas and allow in the legitimate safe immigrants while keeping out the risks.
