Manning was set to be released in 2045, and will now leave prison in May

When news broke this week that outgoing President Barack Obama was commuting U.S. Army soldier Chelsea Manning’s sentence, first shock then outrage rippled through social media.

Many expressed their anger at Obama’s decision.
