The Supreme Court heard arguments Tuesday in a case that could clarify which crimes can lead to an immigrant’s deportation.

The justices are grappling with whether burglary qualifies as a crime of violence that allows for removal.

The government's attorney, Deputy Solicitor General Edwin Kneedler, argued it does because burglary presents a substantial risk that physical force will be used against the victim or property.
