MH370: Underwater search for missing plane suspended

The underwater search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 has been suspended nearly three years after the plane vanished without a trace over the Indian Ocean, according to a joint statement from Chinese, Australian and Malaysian officials.

Read the article. They say what was found and where including at least one picture. They claim some of the pieces are definitely off that specific airplane. One would expect serial numbers on many of the parts so a accurate identification should be possible.

Amazing the millions of dollars wasted on this search. It should have been called off months ago.  I understand the family members wanting closure though.....

CNN aviation expert Richard Quest said in an opinion piece that he found it “bewildering” that the search was called off.

“Why should the search go on? Because we know so little about what caused the plane’s fate.

“We know that the plane crashed into the southern Indian Ocean, because debris has been found and it can be tracked back to where the plane is believed to have gone down. But that’s about it,” he wrote.
