Airmen in the Asia-Pacific region must be ready to respond at a moment’s notice, according to the head of Pacific Air Forces.
Gen. Terrence O’Shaughnessy said his top priority is fielding a forward deployed, ready force that is prepared when the next crisis hits. The Pacific has changed dramatically in 2016 and will continue to do so in 2017, creating a need for more air superiority.
“From increasing Chinese assertiveness and Russian long-range bomber flights to North Korean provocation, this theater is becoming increasingly complex,” the PACAF commander said.
