A British woman jailed by a secret court in Iran has been released from solitary confinement, her husband said, as he criticised the British government for refusing to call for her release.

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, 37, was sentenced to five years in prison by a shadowy court in Tehran in September after being accused of attempting to overthrow the regime.

Her husband, Richard Ratcliffe, said the British government was using her as a "bargaining chip" as part of an ongoing diplomatic spat between the UK and Iran.
