Yeah, but some of these people did a little too much living, too fast and it seems their bodies couldn't take it.

But who knows why all that fast living and risk taking kills some people so young, while others seem to go on and on?  Look at Willie Nelson.  That guy should have been dead a long time ago, but he's in his 80s and still touring.

Or Keith Richards...who chuckles every time someone goes down...and he's still standing.

Also dead in a house fire where alcohol may have been involved: Beverly Wills, actress and
daughter of comedienne Joan Davis. Two years after Davis died, Wills, her two children, and
her grandmother (Davis's mother) died in a house fire.

Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

You ever heard of Steve Marriott?

@EasyAce

Don't think so. Is he the 2nd guy you know that burnt up?

How many suicides do  you know of?

I mentioned also what happened to comedienne Joan Davis's daughter, grandchildren, and mother in a
house fire almost two years after Davis died.

Don't get me started on suicides . . .

The leading cause of death is life.

You are coming up with some great quotes tonight @sneakypete  I like the one above and "life is for living, not enduring".

Keep 'em coming.   ^-^

Enough. If you're not posting information about notable recent deaths, take your discussion elsewhere. Stay on topic.

@dfwgator

Plus so many of US are hitting those numbers ourselves that we pay more attention to the deaths now than we used to. After all,how often do you remember seeing people in their teens or 20's reading obits?

@Smokin Joe

I didn't. I don't think I even watched 15 minutes of television in 15  years on purpose. I would sometimes be at someone's house that had the tv on,but if they were engrossed in watching it I would leave and go somewhere else. I don't think tv was as good back in the 60's as it is now,but that wasn't even why I didn't watch it. I just had things to do that interested me more.

I was referring to the people we knew, especially the ones our age. County paper came out once a week. The obituaries were where we found out who had done something termianlly stupid, unlucky, or just passed on.

I didn't watch much of the three channels of TV we could get (black and white), most of that news, and most of that lies, and paid little attention to movies, as the nearest theater was 25 miles away. We had plenty else to do.
