@Freya

Challah bread!  I haven't had that in quite a while, but I love it.  At a job I used to have, a friend and I used to buy a loaf of that stuff and eat it during the afternoon, when we got hungry.

French toast with Challah bread is awesome and now is the time to add some egg nogg to the eggs.  Oh, yummy yummy.

I don't do expiration date on eggs.  If they don't stink or have an off color, they're good to go.  ;}

A little holiday egg trivia.  Old eggs peel better than new eggs.  I learned this while living in TN where one can actually get older eggs.  I was amazed that eggs that had been left in the fridge for two weeks would easily make gorgeous deviled eggs.

Moved back to Texas... two month old eggs don't peel well.  Eggs here are too damned fresh.

Older eggs do peel better when they are hard-boiled.

Then again, ALL eggs peel better when they are hard-boiled.

It's hard to peel one that is not............

In most countries they don't even put eggs into the fridge

It's because we wash them in the USA per gubmint mandate due to a Salmonella outbreak years and years ago. The wash takes off a protective barrier and the egg needs refrigerated. If you have your own chicken you don't have to.

Doesn't that depend upon whether you open them lid-toward or lid-away?

Yes it does.

B of course.  That is if you leave them in the carton.  Mine go in a hard plastic container that holds at least 18 extra large and does a much better job of protecting them.  Easier to get in and out of the fridge.  When moving them from the cartoon to the container you start with the corner egg on one end then the opposite corner egg on the other end and continue in that fashion keeping the carton evenly balanced just in case.

Picked eggs.  Yummmm.  Deviled eggs.  Yummmm.    I need to try the deviled pickled eggs.

I forgot.  Always break your egg into another container before adding it to food or otherwise cooking it.  Saves unpleasant surprises and ruining cake of cookie batter other foods.

I just read that you can add Worcestershire sauce to scrambled eggs. I'll have to try that tomorrow, my wife loves scrambled eggs and w sauce. Anybody tried them that way?

I don't keep eggs in the carton.  I place them in the egg bin inside the refrigerator door.  :shrug:

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
