I think about that a lot. Imagine America in 1947 if the country had elected a militant Japanese American man for president. Or a German American with Nazi sympathies.

Never in a million years.

But 7 short years after 9/11, we go and elect Obama?

It's really not Obama its the half of the country that elected him and support him to this day.

If WWII occurred today the good ole USA would have neither the will nor the industrial strength to win IMO..

I agree.  Can you imagine Americans putting up with ration books?

Can you imagine the response of the SJWs here?

The ones that stick up for muslims?

The ones that call others fascists?

None of whom to my knowledge, spent a single day in uniform to their countries?

Forget the "after" part.

When you get right down to it, FDR recognized the looming danger and had been preparing the US for war for at least 18 months prior to the Pearl Harbor attack.

For that reason the US -- though still not prepared -- was already working hard to get prepared.

With Obama at the helm, we'd have had the tedious sermonizing and the feckless lack of action... and it would have been years before the US could achieve a full wartime capacity -- if ever.  And because Lend-Lease would never have happened, Britain would have been overrun and the Germans would have won.

Obama would immediately apologized to the Japanese and offered reparations for the wrongs committed against the Japanese by America.

I apologize in advance for veering off on a side topic - Reading a book right now titled Intrepid about William Stevenson who setup an intelligence network between England and the U.S. years before The Battle of Britain.  FDR was a key player - fascinating stuff.

It's not really off-topic.  Can you imagine Obama doing something like that?  Hell, no.
