Democrats are lying to themselves about what this election meant

Democrats, of late, have taken to citing Hillary Clinton's historically large popular vote victory in the presidential race over Donald Trump as evidence that the country is still fundamentally on their side.

Judging by recent election results -- even before Clinton's stunning loss three weeks ago -- that's simply not true. Republicans not only control both the U.S. Senate and House but find themselves at or near historic highs in terms of governorships and state legislative control.

I remember after O's election in 2008 the Dims were predicting it would be at least a generation or two before the GOP again controlled the Congress and the Presidency.

Both the Dims and GOP are lying to themselves it they think they can predict the future in politics. IMO the only accurate prediction is the politicians will continue to enrich themselves at the public's expense, the GOP and Trump will be blamed for everything for the next four years, and very little will change for the average American...
