I propose this thread to continue that discussion.

This is not a religion thread. Although I wish for people to freely express their thoughts I would like to contain that a bit. No in-depth discussion of any particular sect. But "I was raised Catholic, Mormon, Islamic, Buddhist, Hindi" is fine.

The Rise of Nuclear Fear-How We Learned to Fear the Radiation

I remember going to bed one night when I was 11, seriously afraid I would not be alive in the morning. It was October, 1962, and the frightening cold war between the U.S. and Soviet Union, constantly in the news but mostly abstract to me as a kid, had becoming terrifyingly real. I had watched a stern President Kennedy on TV revealing that Soviet missiles were being installed in Cuba and ordering a blockade of Soviet ships. There were pictures of the missile sites, and video of confrontations at sea. The world really was on the brink of nuclear war. I was viscerally afraid, and I wasn’t alone.

Such tangible at-any-moment existential fear can burn deeply into anyone’s mind, especially the mind of impressionable adolescents, as many baby boomers were back then. So it’s not surprising how far reaching and long lasting the effects of those Cold War fears have been. Fear of atomic weapons and nuclear fallout helped carve the dread of cancer deep into our hearts, and they put a man on the moon. They helped launch environmentalism, and laid the foundations for the anti-Vietnam war movement. They framed the phobia about nuclear power, leading to a coal-based energy policy which has killed hundreds of thousands of people from air pollution and threatens the very climate on which life on earth depends. Nuclear fears even gave birth to the modern skepticism of technology and industry, and of science itself.

Radiation was even seen as the Philosopher’s Stone, the legendary material the alchemists had sought that would give man control over matter. Ernest Rutherford (“The father of nuclear physics”) titled his book about nuclear physics for the general public The Newer Alchemy. A friend of Rutherford promised that radiation could “…make the whole world one smiling Garden of Eden”. A newspaper headline about radiation declared “Science on the road to revolutionize all existence. No limit to man’s power over nature.”

These types of things help people to accept evil in their lives. They become immune to the travesties of reality.

Isis burning people, hacking off heads.

Pedophilia is a yawner.

Abortion is the right to commit murder.

People watching the horrific episode of The Walking Dead. And saying oh I know about the obscenity of the violence and the gore but I like it because it talks about surviving in a post-apocalyptic world.

Oh really now?

Did it have an episode that gave detailed instructions on how to build your own tandoor?

Many of the movies of our era are major routes to demonic oppression and even possession--with millions sitting their watching--transfixed and open doors to such horrors.

One of my rules of thumb for evil is look for a combination of banality and mockery. The father of evil can't create, he can only pervert what is already there.

So what would you call "Gulf of Tonkin Resolution"? Was the deception a furtherance of evil? Or a ploy by the military/inductrial complex for enrichment? Is their a difference?

The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution (August 7, 1964) gave broad congressional approval for expansion of the Vietnam War. During the spring of 1964, military planners had developed a detailed design for major attacks on the North, but at that time President Lyndon B. Johnson and his advisers feared that the public would not support an expansion of the war. By summer, however, rebel forces had established control over nearly half of South Vietnam, and Senator Barry Goldwater, the Republican nominee for president, was criticizing the Johnson administration for not pursuing the war more aggressively.

The resolution was quickly approved by Congress; only Senators Wayne Morse of Oregon and Ernest Gruening of Alaska voted against it. Later, when more information about the Tonkin incident became available, many concluded that Johnson and his advisers had misled Congress into supporting the expansion of the war.

There is an aspect to some of this I now apply.

Sex and Rockets: The Occult World of Jack Parsons

   In Sex and Rockets, Carter brings a measure of much needed clarity to the life and times of the enigmatic Parsons; an enigma that has been compounded over the years by varying degrees of misinformation and exaggeration as to just who Parsons was, and exactly what he was trying to accomplish with the Babalon Working rituals, performed in part with L. Parsons opened a door and something flew in." Carter also suggests it mighthave been the atomic bomb that opened this door between dimensions. He then further illustrates the importance of the year 1947, which ended the first stage of the Babalon Working, as Parsons and Hubbard parted ways amid a cloud of turmoil. 1947 was the year that the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. In that very same year, Israel became a nation state, the transistor was invented and the sound barrier broken. Last, but certainly not least, the Modern Age of UFO's flew into view with the Kenneth Arnold sightings, followed not long after by the alleged saucer crash in Roswell, New Mexico. 1947 was also the year the Great Beast, Aleister Crowley died.

There has been talk that Parsons, using electromagnectics, formed, or opened a portal and made a deal  with demons. One of the supposed goals of secret societies is to feed demonic entities with blood. As an energy source. So the promulgation of wars.
