Wikileaks - No Middle Class Tax Cut
« on: October 31, 2016, 09:13:10 pm »
Contrary to what Hillary is saying, her people are advising no middle class tax cuts. On the contrary, they are proposing the "Hanauer Rolfe" strategy. That one took a bit of digging but the strategy is: "the government [would] create a system of prorated fundamental benefits, paid for by deductions from all workers’ paychecks, no matter how big or small. Those benefits could include sick leave, maternity and paternity leave, retirement savings, unemployment insurance, and workers’ compensation." - http://civicskunkworks.com/ny-mag-hanauers-shared-security-system-is-best-option-for-todays-uber-economy/

Just  to put cards on the table ahead of the call, I don't think this is
the right time for a middle class tax cut. I think liberals will see it as
craven 90s centrism driven out of fear and liberals seem to be driving the
narrative these days. May be more useful in the general.

I would do an ftt but not for social security. Bc that is exactly his
plan.  And we are winning seniors. Given we have issues w low income should
we consider the Hanauer Rolfe idea?
