One of the issues surrounding this and most of the stuff on Wikileaks is it is simply too comlpex for the average person to understand. I just took three paragraphs to describe as simply as possible the difference between a private email domain and a private email server. That wasn't for the lack of being informed from the person I was talking to, it was just a complex issue.

Read that again. Comey is telling Congress that Clinton's e-mails are relevant to a separate FBI case, with contents relevant and serious enough to re-open this investigation?

What is the nature of that other case? Presumably it's a criminal case -- and the Clinton e-mails are part of it!

Trump's absolute best move at this point would be to announce that he's only going to run for one term. Sell himself as the non-politician going in for four years just to clean it up, then leave. Make the argument that once she gets in she'll never let go of power because she's been after it all her life.

The most damaging accusations about the Clintons the GOP make is that's they are "above the law". There is ample proof out there. From the 1990's to the email scandal. Clinton getting out of the FBI investigation hurt her greatly. It was the only time Trump beat her in the RCP polling average IIRC.

People are tired of DC corruption.

I think there was something in the Federalist papers discussing impeachment from office and why the threshold is so high and why a President can't be generally convicted outside of that. He wouldn't need to pardon himself, he could be charged but not punished outside impeachment. Prevents using general judges to try to control the Executive branch.

I don't honestly think either one of them will make it through a full term without being impeached.

I don't think so. Impeachment *is* charges, and investigation is just an investigation. What a President can do is fire whoever is investigating him, such as Nixon and the "Saturday Night Massacre".

I tend to disagree that Obama 'had no way of knowing' that he was emailing Hillary on an unsecured server. For one thing....any email communication he sent should have had that .gov in the address for it to be secure and official. Plus the fact that he was communicating unofficially under a pseudonym. He knew damned well what he AND she was doing. That's why nothing will ever come from these "leaks" of Hillary's emails. It would equate to Obama going down too. Can't have that!

I'm not so sure to be honest. Presumably many would be worried about 2020, which is a mid-term and is usually when the conservative vote is strongest.
