A mere five years after immigrating to the U.S., an Iraqi refugee plotted to aid ISIS by bombing two shopping centers. Now Omar Faraj Saeed al Hardan has pleaded guilty to that 2014 plot and faces 20 years in prison. The Associated Press reports that al Hardan admitted to his crimes and that he had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State as part of a plea deal.
Upon swearing allegiance to ISIS, the Iraqi refugee reportedly underwent immediate tactical and combat training. AP adds:
