The pics of puppies (regardless of age) really amped up this thread! Gazing at dog/puppy pics is my best therapy. "Puppy" is one of my favorite words in the English language, and I wish puppy breath could be bottled so it could be enjoyed every day. In short, I LOVE DOGS!

And naturally, I love mine the most.

And BTW, @austingirl has the best avatar, imho.

Sometimes a break from the cats is in order.  It's why we try to get away to the casino a couple days every month.  We're overdue.

Glad to hear you say that. As much as I adore my dog(s)*, there are times when I want to be unpestered. Then I start to feel guilty. Dogs generally tend to require more hands-on than cats, and I understood that when I signed up to be a dog mama. Nevertheless, I do need a little block of time here and there to meet my human needs.

What a cutie!

Thank you for commenting on my avatar. To my everlasting sadness, all three of them are now angels. Bobbi, on the left, died last June at the age of 14 from liver cancer; she declined in only a month. Rocky died at the age of 16 nineteen months ago. He was blind but got around well and was alpha to the end. His brave heart finally succumbed to congestive heart failure. Lillian Gish, on the right, died in October of 2008, probably PE. She was about 14 and waited for me to come home that day and I dashed to the vet. Nothing to be done. All three were rescues.

I have Hank, a one-eyed Border terrier and Harriet, a little terrier right now. I can't live without dogs even if they break you heart.

Sorry for your loss. When I lost Rocky, I didn't get another dog because I thought Bobbi would live a lot longer. She died less than a year later, leaving Hank alone. He wouldn't eat and was so anxious if I left the house. I adopted Harriet a few days later because he needed someone. She was horribly abused and found abandoned in San Antonio, with no fur, having been used as a breeder. God bless her rescuer who took her out of the pound. It took six months before she truly trusted me. She has bad knees, few teeth, bald spots on her legs, but I am going to give her the best life.

It so hurts to lose a fur baby.  That's how it is, though.  Unless you have a Parrot or a Galapagos Turtle for a pet you will outlive them.

Meanwhile, we really need a break from the brood.  "Kitty, may I take a shower now?"  "Sure you can!  I'll just crap or vomit on the rug over here and don't worry, it will be here for you when you get back!  Watch your step..."

Dad's dog hates Daniel and barks constantly at him. He is also scared to death when Daniel gets him. This is what happens.

You will notice on the image of the "Ratscals" that the draperies are down, nothing on the mantle nor bookcase.  If you do have a couple of active teenage kitties, you will understand.  If not, it is because they pulled the drapes off by climbing up them; things on the mantle and top of the bookcase were being tossed to the floor.

They were just having fun as did the three Cow cats before them.  Five kitties in three years...

Okie-dokie for decorating anything.

But we love all ten of our critters...
