It sounds like the plot of a sci-fi thriller: A few months into their journey to Mars, a crew of astronauts realizes that something is wrong. They can't think straight. They keep forgetting things. They feel anxious all the time. They are slowly losing their minds — and the longer they are in space, the worse it gets.

When we think about the risks of a trip to Mars, we usually think about engineering failures: equipment malfunctions, fires, explosions. But there are also biological hazards, unique risks associated with exposing the human body to the low gravity and elevated radiation environment of space.

Hmph... did Trump live in space for a few years? That might explain it.

To be honest, I question a lot of these articles. If you can follow Robert Zubrin on Facebook or on Twitter. He debunks them in a good way.

If you want to get to the actual research that the original article (here) was based on, go here:

Cosmic radiation exposure and persistent cognitive dysfunction
My political philosophy:

1) I'm not bothering anybody.
2) It's none of your business.
3) Leave me alone!

What I would worry about is being in a small unit with a couple of people. It's the law of nature you are bound to get on each others nerves.

I'm just thinking of every roommate I ever had back in college days. Started out as besties. By the end of the semester- not much.

Or an older dog or cat. They're true love❤️
