Don't look now....but Feldman's "performance" just got even worse.  This time, he managed to drop the US flag on stage.  Since he didn't try to pick it up and just went on with the "performance", one has to assume that he dropped it intentionally....even though he has issued a lame apology.

But at least he traded in the dark hoodie for a white one.   I suppose that could be deemed as an improvement.  But then....there's the Michael Jackson hair ......holy chit, batman!

I don't think he did it on purpose. He's obviously high on some sort of drugs.

Well, if people spend their column inches and airtime dealing with how he treated the flag, they won't spend it on how he has treated 'music'. There may be a method to that madness.

Off topic, but that guy is 45? What? Has he been kept in a jug of hand lotion all his life?

So the flag-dropping was merely a desperate attempt to deflect attention away from the no-talent performance.  Sounds like a valid theory.   Either way, the dropping of the flag WAS intentional.  I don't know who or what group he thought he would appeal to there.  But I suspect that it will backfire if he thought it would up his popularity.  Epic fail at that and at his attempted 'come back' at the age of 45.

When will these types ever learn that negative publicity is NOT preferable to no publicity at all?

If it wasn't intentional, he would have picked the flag back up and continued on.   He showed extreme disrespect for the US flag, IMO.  I could have overlooked and forgiven the horrid performance if not for that.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.

I agree about the flag. As for the performance, I'm just very happy I didn't have to pay to see that. Someone really wants him to gain traction if they gave him a second shot at the Today Show. Is he living in someone's basement?

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I know what you are saying. It's the Judge Roy Bean defense: "But, Your Honor, he just needed killing". <<

Back in the days when people had enough common sense to come in out of the rain, you could tell that to a grand jury of locals who knew the deceased, and it would be ruled to be a justifiable homicide, and you wouldn't even be fined.

That's the way it should be today. The courts should be OUR bitch, not the other way around. This country was set up so the citizens would be the bosses, and the courts and politicians would follow OUR orders.

>>I'm not accusing you of bravado, but it isn't something to be undertaken lightly. <<

Neither should causing harm to someone who is not harming you,and the one starting the problem should understand there is a price to be paid down the road for such actions.

A simpler way to say that is the old-saying that states "An armed society is a polite society."

>>To quote a poster from TOS, long ago: One must be equally certain of two things: the unrepentant guilt of the party, and that the system will not perform as it should in prosecuting that party. <<

I agee with the first part, and strongly disagree with the second part. If it's worth doing, you shouldn't have to ask permission and seek a consensus.  Nor should you ever have to be concerned about getting caught up in one of those "My lawyer can whip your lawyer" situations.  I have had the courtesy of pointing out to people in the past that if they continued with their conduct or I could prove to myself that they had done what I suspected they had done, their lawyer would never enter in to the discussion we would be having.  I grew up poor and never had the ability to play the "my lawyer versus your lawyer game",so I was always straight up with people that thought they could screw me and get away with it because of who they were and what family they came from. In all cases both of us were lucky enough to believe I was telling the truth, but make no mistake about it,there are things you can say or do to me that will end up with you suddenly becoming graveyard dead unless you piss me off in addition to threatening someone or something I love. Do that and you will still wind up dead, but not quick enough to suit you.

Right is right and wrong is wrong, and neither need to be decided by a committee beforehand. That's what juries are for.

And yes, there ARE some issues I am willing to go to jail for if that becomes necessary.

>>That said, I am all for some 'old school' solutions to obvious problems, and have found an axe handle or pick handle can cause sudden enlightenment for miscreants in the hands of a young lady's Dad and a couple of Uncles or friends of the family. The mere presence of a shotgun can bring about an epiphany, followed by sudden relocation. The sad state of affairs, though is that doing such opens one up to being brought before the bench.<<

Which is as it should be in a civilized society. The issue of your justification in reference to any guilt should be decided by your neighbors/your peers on the grand jury and the trial jury if it goes that far,not some pompous ass in  a robe that lives in another town and doesn't know anyone involved in the case or their personal histories.

Let's face it,there IS such a thing as a bad boy/bad girl, and THEY don't  need protection from society. Society needs to be protected from THEM. Which is why you just flat don't run across genuinely crazy violent people in rural areas. Typically, they tend to  die in a tragic hunting, fishing,or farming accident at roughly the same time they start entering puberty and become strong enough and old enough to be dangerous.

On the rare occasions where it was obvious there was no real accident and the person with them when they died was brought before a Grand Jury, the old "He needed killing" explanation was all that was needed. Everybody would nod,say "yup",and deem it a justified homicide and send you home.

You only found violent crazy people running around in the big cities, where nobody really knew anyone else well. Serial killers and rapists tended to not live long in rural areas.

Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!

He's probably just barely getting by on his "name recognition"....and by making guest appearances as a former child star.  Hence, his latest desperate attempt to break into the music biz.

I wasn't that critical of his first Today Show performance.  But dropping the flag is the last straw with me.  He sucks.  His voice is gravelly and unappealing, he sings off key (much like his band plays off key) and his lyrics are mundane and un-original, to say the least.  He seems totally incapable of originality.  And sorry, but that Michael Jackson hair just cracks me up.

I suspect that most folks will....when viewing this latest routine....do a lot of pointing and laughing...just like they did re: the first one.

His "Girls outreach" program is pretty laughable too. Sounds like something Ernie McCracken would come up with.
