A principal at a South Carolina high school banned the American flag at football games, but was later forced to backtrack when outraged patriotic Americans put the heat on.
Lou Lavely, the principal of Travelers Rest High School, began barring students from entering the games with an American flag because he considered it “improper ‘taunting,’ unsportsmanlike manner.”
He particularly cited a game against one local team with a large Hispanic student body.
