LOL! Sort of - I just got back from London, and people were asking me how I felt about our candidates and how, at a moment like this, we could have one who looked like she was or should be in her way to jail and one who could only get his foreign born former "escort" third wife to speak for him.

That said, the report on the US jets appeared briefly on a Twitter feed, but as someone here pointed out, it may have been simply a US made jet belonging to the Egyptian military.

I think this could actually be a good thing.... if I'm correct in thinking that the Turkish military are not Islamist.

They've always been more secular had a really good working relationship with the U.S. military.

Erdogan has been systematically purging those generals and replacing them with Sharia types.

Sounds like the military decided to put a stop to Erdogan's attempt to play footsie with ISIS.

Erdoğan calls on citizens to streets, airports to resist against coup attempt

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in a phone interview on broadcaster CNNTürk that a "minority group" in the military has attempted a coup.

Erdoğan said the parallel state, referring to the followers of the U.S.-based scholar Fethullah Gülen, has promoted the attempt.

"We will not leave the ground to them," he said, vowing to end the "occupation" by the group, called on nation to unite at squares and airports. Erdoğen said he would also be on the streets.

The move is not as part of the chain of command.

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said earlier that Turkey is facing an uprising attempt from inside the army, with the state-run Anadolu Agency reporting that Chief of General Staff Hulusi Akar is being kept as a hostage with a group. Erdoğan neither confirmed nor denied the information, telling that there was an "obscure atmosphere" of information.
