Which is a huge pity - I'd have paid good money to see Farage and BoJo on the same stage.

Scotland is skewing the Remain camp quite heavily at the moment. Bloody sweaties, wanting to leave the UK but to stay in Europe.  :tongue2:

Pound dives as City reckons with Leave probability

Sterling is heading ever lower against the dollar - on track for its worst losses against the US currency in at least the last three decades.

It is currently trading down more than 4.2pc as traders contemplate the likelihood of a Brexit victory. That puts the pound on track for a greater fall than that of "Black Wednesday", when the UK left the ERM in 1992. On that day, the pound dropped by just 4.1pc.

Meanwhile, Asian markets are waking up and reckoning with the consequences. Expect to see some fall out in bourses there once they open up for trading.

    (33 of 382 areas reporting.)
Predicted vote share for Remain: 47.5 percent.
    (90% prediction interval: 45.5 to 49.6 percent)

Turn out is being reported as around 70% - which is almost unheard of for an election.

In my polling station (3700 voters registered to it) we returned under 100 unused ballots. Working class, "trades" suburb. Though considering the state of some of the late voters (there was a darts match at the local pub) I'm betting that several of those are returned as invalid/spoiled ballots.  :tongue2:

I think leave will take it by under 10,000 votes.

Sorry for the delay. Last minute rush at the polling station - trying to get over 100 people checked and vote completed with 6 minutes to go to close of polls. Wore me out, so when I got home I just corked out.

Nigel Farrage is one I'm never sure what the hell he's on about. His ability with mixed messages makes Trump look a model of concise speech.

However, I think what your friend meant was that UKIP ran their own exit campaign in isolation, rather than doing as the others did and linking in with the general campaign for exit. Which is a huge pity - I'd have paid good money to see Farage and BoJo on the same stage.

That is ridiculous

MP Simon Danczuk, who is currently suspended from the Labour Party, placed the blame for the low Remain vote in the party’s heartlands on Jeremy Corbyn.

Rochdale MP Mr Danczuk said:

“I think the leadership of the party – Jeremy primarily – struggles to communicate with our people in the north.

“Many of them think he’s a very principled person but don’t believe what he has to say.

    “They don’t listen to him.

“He just doesn’t get his message across and that is a real problem not just for this referendum but for a future general election.

“If your core vote aren’t listening then you’re not going to win a future general election.

“I think there’s some anti-politics – large swathes of people across the north who believe, rightly, that the Conservatives don’t care for their towns and cities in the north and believe the Labour Party is led by a north London elite who, not so much don’t care for them, but don’t understand them.

“That’s quite corrosive. It hasn’t happened overnight, it’s been happening over a few years now.”

Mr Danczuk warned the leadership it doesn’t understand traditional supporters’ concerns over immigration.

“I don’t think they do get it at all – Jeremy talks about wanting more immigration, not less,” said the MP.

He urged Mr Corbyn to get out and meet “real people .. not just doing rallies talking to the faithful, the Corbynites”.

Wales is heading for Leave

All seven areas in Wales to declare so far have backed Leave - four by over 56 per cent. This will be concerning for Remain, as this nation was supposed to be the closest in the UK - and YouGov had predicted a small Remain win here overall.

McDonnell: 'Bank of England will intervene'

John McDonnell, the shadow chancellor, says he expects the Bank of England to intervene in the morning. He told the BBC:

"That is exactly the sort of shock we were expecting so I would expect the Bank of England to intervene in the morning.
