Donald Trump’s Troubling Appeal to Skinheads
« on: April 26, 2016, 07:20:43 pm »
Quote
For years, the left has accused Republicans of being racist, hateful to the poor and minorities, and a host of other invectives that, if you take historical facts into account, are more correctly identifiable with the Democrat party.

Now, because of a liberal Democrat from Manhattan who decided to run as a Republican, the left have their gross caricature, and no cadre of leftist PR minds could write better attack ads for the general election than those he’s writing for them....

I'm leaning more and more towards the notion that this isn't a caricature.  That this really is a sizeable plurality of the GOP primary voter.

I mean, why else would the birther nonsense be so prevalent?  Or the talk about the 'gibsmedats'?  Or the reformation of Pat Buchanon (who was booted from the GOP by Buckley for his anti-Semitism)?

Why else would Trump get favor by calling to strip US citizens of their citizenship?

This is what happens when you try to marginalize ways of thinking like this. It doesn't go away. It never goes away. It just goes underground, and at the first opportunity, it comes out as vengeance.

A cross between Stormfront and the Hale-Bopp Comet Cult

This is what happens when a society is in collapse. The people demand what Fascism promises, money and winning trump God and Principles, and the people demand their Il Duce.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775
