MILWAUKEE — As if Jeb Bush’s campaign were not already finished, the candidate drilled several additional screws into his own coffin during Tuesday night’s debate here.

“Even having this conversation sends a powerful signal,” he whined as real estate mogul and presidential front-runner Donald Trump tangled with the Democratic wing of the Republican Party over the insanity of allowing 12 million illegal aliens to roam free in America without the slightest concern that our country’s laws might just apply to them.

Outside the debate hall, protesters beat drums and screamed for amnesty. One man with a bullhorn kept repeating over and over again that justice is not possible in America. And every third time or so he accused Mr. Trump of being a “racist” for vowing to enforce America’s immigration laws. No word on whether he was a plant, paid for by the Bush campaign.

On stage inside the debate hall, Mr. Trump stuck to his guns and said that immigration laws passed by both Democrats and Republicans in Congress and approved by presidents from both parties should simply be enforced. That is all he is saying.

Yet Mr. Bush not only thinks these laws should be summarily dismissed, he said during the debate that even having a discussion about enforcing our immigration laws is a terrible thing. We should dismiss these laws and there should not even be a debate about it.

“They’re doing high-fives in the Clinton campaign right now when they hear this,” Mr. Bush said.

Wow. Truly astonishing. Not only does Mr. Bush not belong in the White House or the Republican Party, he should just be deported. Perhaps to Mexico, where he might be happier and find greater success in politics.

Astonishingly, Mr. Bush was not alone on the Republican stage. “Think about the families!” cried Ohio Gov. John Kasich. “C’mon, folks!”

These people really have no clue how desperately frustrated and estranged American voters in both parties are over this issue of rampant illegal immigration and Washington’s absolute refusal to take simple, common sense measures to fix the problem.

John Kasich should be deported right behind Jeb Bush.

Luckily, the remaining serious contenders on the stage — and even the less-serious contenders on the earlier debate stage — do not share Mr. Bush’s and Mr. Kasich’s reckless and lawless plot to eviscerate American sovereignty by granting amnesty to millions of illegals in America.

“If Republicans join Democrats as the party of amnesty, we will lose,” Sen. Ted Cruz countered during the debate. “It is not compassionate to say we’re not going to enforce the laws, and we’re going to drive down the wages for millions of hardworking men and women.”

Maybe think about THOSE families.

There's certainly something perverse and pathognomonic of societal decay when presidential candidates of a major political party, Kasich and Bush, hold a position that if a law is disobeyed by enough people, the law should be ignored.

Explain the political, moral, legal, economic and philosophical basis for President Reagan's 1986 Amnesty?

Same applies for the proposals during GW Bush's time in office.

I thought responses on Banking were more damaging to Bush and Kaisch. Both worked at Banks and neither of them know the FDIC insures depositors?

Outside the debate hall, protesters beat drums and screamed for amnesty. One man with a bullhorn kept repeating over and over again that justice is not possible in America. 1986 was a political deal. Congress made a deal with Reagan. Legalize the ones here now and we will secure the border to prevent more coming. Problem was they did the legalized but we never did enough to secure the borders.

If you have a leak in a hose line, you turn the water off 1st, you don't try to patch the hose with the water running.

That why no one takes DC seriously. They keep saying "give us this now and later we will do that". American people have come to realize that DC needs to take care of the US 1st then we can discuss next steps.

When he said think about the families and it was for the children I thought I would puke. Did you notice his body lauguage at that time? You could tell he was upset/p9ssed off.

The societal decay in the west is very advanced and we are seeing the indications almost daily...from Missouri to Connecticut to Brussels to Berlin.

An interesting came out of Anthony Bourdain's most recent show on Istanbul (I know he's left-wing, but bear with me). He was talking to a businessman in a drinking establishment the businessman owned and asked him if in Istanbul today they were looking to the east, to Russia, China and Iran or to the west (Europe -America was a nothing). The businessman answered "definitely to the east, the west is getting visibly weaker by the day."

Anecdotal I know...but still.

Amen!  I'm hoping that Kasich and Bush both drop to the bottom tier. If the remaining candidates would display a united Republican front they would send a clear message and any of them would easily defeat Hillary.

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
