Quote

Donald Trump says he's going to make a decision once and for all about whether he'll mount a third party bid if he loses the Republican nomination for president.

Trump told reporters following a speech in Nashville Saturday that he's going to make a decision "very soon."

He says he thinks the decision will make a lot of people "very happy."

Trump has so far refused to pledge to support the eventual Republican nominee. He says it gives him leverage.

But his hands are largely tied: He'll have to sign a pledge to do so if he

Hmmm?  The "I told you so's" or the "He really does care about his country".
Why?  Well, because I'm a bastard, that's why.

What does it matter?  No one will hold him to a pledge.  How could they?

Except...if he does pledge not to run 3rd party and he turns around and does so, he loses ALL credibility and a whole lot of votes.

Not if those voters are happy and relieved with his decision.

Is there a betting pool that if he does run 3rd party, he'll start his own and name it after himself?

Not if those voters are happy and relieved with his decision.

Unless he is 99.99% absolutely confident that he could run 3rd party and garner enough votes so that neither party had the majority, he would be a complete fool...unless his intent all along has been to hand Hillary the keys to the front door of the White House.

It is nearly impossible for a 3rd party in these days to win.

Is Trump losing momentum? The W.Va. Republican State Executive Committee summer meeting was held this weekend and a straw poll conducted:

Dr. Ben Carson placed first with 13.6%
Senator Ted Cruz second with 12.8%
Carly Fiorina third with 12.5%.

The rest:
4) Donald Trump
5) Governor Scott Walker
6) Senator Marco Rubio
7) Governor John Kasich
8) Governor George "Jeb" Bush
9) Governor Mike Huckabee
10) Governor Bobby Jindal
11) Senator Rand Paul
12) Governor Chris Christie
13) Governor Rick Perry
14) Governor George Pataki
15) Senator Rick Santorum

There is absolutely NO WAY Trump would renege on his pledge, once he makes one.   NONE!

It's why Americans from both sides of the aisle are falling for him.

And perversely...he could very well win even more Democrats if he did do that, and possible win it all as a 3rd party

Why would you say that?

Perot didn't have the internet.  He was at the mercy of the liberal MSM at the time.  And today's MSM is infinitely more out in the open about their bias today.

Today's social media Facebook and Twitter, plus DRUDGE has changed all the rules.

A 3rd party could win...if that candidate comes from the GOP.  Don't think Bernie Sanders could do it as an INDY.

IMO, he's holding the Clinton regime hostage for a nice incentive to drop the idea.   About $10 Million should do it.

He's looking more and more like a liberal troll who's goal is to do precisely that.

Trump will lose credibility with his voters when he changes his tune?

Respectfully disagree. If he pledges no third party and the RINOGOP screws him and they are not smart enough to hide it all bets are off. The voters will stay with Trump because of the Message. Trump also should make public will the RINOGOP support him if he gets the nomination. Foolish me trying to tell Trump how to negotiate? We all have our moments! :patriot:

Every poll indicates that Trump is on a stroll to easily win the GOP nomination. Why change course?

The more logical question would be if a sore loser would run 3rd party against him, like John Anderson did with Reagan in 1980.
