Multiple intelligence agencies sent classified emails to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's private email address, the main account she used for the duration of her tenure, sources say.

According to Fox News, investigators have discovered that information came from the National Security Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Nation-Geospatial Agency, as well as the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and the CIA.

The Office of the Intelligence Community inspector general has identified five emails containing classified information when it conducted a random sampling from the emails she released to the State Department.

Intelligence agencies were growing concerned that the State Department's review of the Clinton emails was not adequately screening for classified information, according to one official, John Fitzpatrick, who is responsible for overseeing the government's security classification system, McClatchy Newspapers reported.

In early July, Patrick Kennedy, the State Department's undersecretary for management, met with roughly a dozen aides on Capitol Hill from intelligence, homeland security, and foreign affairs committees, a congressional sourced told Fox News.

At the meeting, Kennedy argued that he had checked with the CIA and the publicly released email had no classified information, but ultimately the agency would have no say over the classification issue since it was not the originating agency.

Fox News said that the CIA had no public comment while the ODNI referred calls to the inspector general of the intelligence community.

It was reported last week that Attorney General Loretta Lynch's Justice Department has been asked by two inspectors general to launch a probe of Hillary Clinton's handling of classified government information while using a private email account while she was secretary of state.
