Russia Taunts U.S., Sends Long-Range Bombers To Probe U.S. Defenses

Just how emboldened have the enemies of the United States’ become?

Well, all you have to do is look at how ISIS is killing and maiming innocent individuals at will, and how these Islamic terrorists are threatening the sovereignty of the U.S. with “Lone Wolf” attacks, some of which have already been thwarted by law enforcement.

But what about those not-so-American-friendly foreign governments like China, Iran and Russia?

Iran refers the U.S. as “The Great Satan,” and has been a State’s Sponsor of Terrorism for quite some time, conducting a proxy war against the U.S. and its allies, including Israel, which it refers to as   “The Little Satan.”

China is bulking up its military, as is Russia.

But Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was held at bay under the George W. Bush Administration,  who since Bush left office, has been flexing his military muscles around the world, taunting, and testing President Obama’s resolve in Ukraine, off the coast of Australia, and even along the U.S. mainland

According to a senior defense official, over this past 4th of July weekend, two pairs of Russian bombers were intercepted by U.S. Air Force fighters off the Alaskan and Californian coastlines.

The first incident occurred at 10:30 a.m. ET on July 4 off the coast of Alaska, Fox News is told. Two U.S. Air Force F-22 jets were scrambled from their base in Alaska to intercept two Tupolev Tu-95 long-range strategic bombers, capable of carrying nuclear weapons.

The second incident occurred at 11:00 a.m. ET also on July 4, off the central coast of California. Two F-15s from an undisclosed location were scrambled to intercept another pair of Tu-95 Bear bombers. –Fox

An Air Force official dismissed the Russian military show of force as not being an “unprecedented” act, adding that the bombers never entered U.S. airspace.

But even if the bombers didn’t enter U.S. territory, would it really make any difference if these bombers were to have dropped a nuclear warhead  just 12 miles off any populated region, such as the San Francisco Bay area?

The Russians don't want to get into a nuclear conflict any more than we do.
