Viet Nam Veterans' Day
« on: March 30, 2015, 03:54:42 pm »
Today is Viet Nam Veterans Day, apparently. March 30th was chosen to commemorate us, because it was the date the last combat and combat support troops were withdrawn from Viet Nam. Not exactly a V-E, or V-J day, but at least a day.

So to all my brother and sister 'Nam vets onsite. Welcome Home! And thank you all for your service in a noble cause, both of which were, and are, denigrated by your lessers.

Did Obama lay a wreath at the Viet Nam Wall?  Did anyone in congress know about it; say anything complimentary?  I, for one, don't feel any differently about my service during Viet Nam now than I did then.  I was proud to serve my country then and am just as proud today - of my service, not the government.  In fact, I think of the 59,000 + Americans who sacrificed themselves.  If they had known what the government would be like in 40 years, they may have gone to Canada instead.
