Al Shabab's releases images of savage death-swim for captives

Al-Shabaab, the Somali jihadist group responsible for yesterday’s deadly attack on a prominent Mogadishu hotel, has released a graphic new video showing executions of unarmed civilians – identified as Christians by the AhlulBayt News Agency – at an unnamed location on the Somali coast.
 

Some of victims in the video titled ‘In Remembrance 2,’ are forced to kneel at the ocean’s edge before being shot to death from behind.

Others are marched out into the sea, with jihadists standing on an elevated sand dune at the beach’s edge firing automatic weapons at them in the distance. Water splashes as bullets hit the water around men as they are exposed surfacing for air.

The video was produced by the al-Kataib Foundation, al-Shabaab’s primary media outlet.

Al-Shabaab has targeted Christians for death, particularly those in neighboring Kenya where over 80 percent of the population identifies as Christian.

In December, 36 Kenyan quarry workers were systematically executed by militants when they were unable to recite the Islamic shahada. The month before, al-Shabaab fighters stopped a bus headed to Nairobi, separated out the non-Muslims and executed 28.


The group’s most deadly attack came in September 2013 when al-Shabaab gunmen killed at least 67 people and injured 175 in an attack on the Nairobi Westgate Shopping Mall.

WND reported the al-Qaida-linked group has even threatened shopping malls in the U.S.

An hourlong video purportedly released by Somali Islamic militants al-Shabaab last month specifically named the Mall of America, the West Edmonton Mall in Alberta and London’s Oxford Street.

A masked man is seen in the video mentioning the Mall of America, along with a photograph of the shopping center and its GPS coordinates.

Excellent question evadR²!  To protect their villages and their families, it would be nice if some covert group could arm and train them - instead of wasting resources on the "moderate" groups that quickly join the enemy with equipment bought and paid for by us.  The moderates are too easily swayed because they have similar ideologies. Christian groups are ideological opposites.

It would be better if they were on the offensive sometimes, instead of always being on the defensive and apparently unable to protect themselves.

I remember, as a kid, seeing the Bible story of David and Goliath.  The illustrated Bible had that neat picture of young David gloriously holding up the bloody, severed head of Goliath for all to see.  Ahhh, childhood.

But, I would be readily willing to burn in Hell if I could take one of them with me or give my loved ones one more breath of life.
