Mark Levin says GOP has ‘no guts’
By Kevin Cirilli

Conservative radio host Mark Levin said Congressional Republicans have "no principles, no strategy and no guts" on immigration.

Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Saturday, Levin dubbed Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) "one of the most despicable, dumbest men to ever be leader in the Senate,” but added that Reid is "running circles around the Republicans."

"That's what happens when you have no principles, no strategy and no guts," Levin said of Congressional Republicans. "It's time for a new Republican Party.”

"No more excuses. No more whining. No more lying to get you elected. No more crony deals with the U.S. Chamber of crony capitalism," Levin said, taking a political shot at the business community powerhouse U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Levin made clear his opposition to likely 2016 presidential candidate Jeb Bush.

"We are not a nation of immigrants. We are a nation of citizens," Levin said to applause. "I am sick and tired of the American citizen being demeaned and treated as a second-class citizen while anybody who crosses the border is treated as the most virtuous human being on the face of the earth."

Levin said some GOP presidential candidates have referred "to us as essentially lazy and racist and themselves rejecting the belief of American exceptionalism, insisting that the nation owes its current and future greatness, if not existence, to uninterrupted massive waves of low-skilled and unskilled aliens from the third world."

"This has never been the American experience. Immigration is to be managed, limited, gradual to allow for assimilation and Americanization," Levin said. "You see, Mr. Bush, we love our country, too."

Top Republican donors and strategists have argued presidential candidates should strike a more inclusive tone on immigration reform, noting that Hispanics are an important constituency needed to win elections.

President Obama's immigration policies have been a hot-button issue in recent days as lawmakers barely agreed to avert a shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Tea Party conservatives had hoped to block DHS funding unless it came with language to defund President Obama’s executive actions on immigration.

With just two hours left until a shutdown took hold, lawmakers reached a one-week stopgap funding deal late Friday night.

MARK LEVIN TAKES ON GOP ESTAB: ‘IN ORDER TO DEFEAT DEMOCRATS, WE HAVE TO DEFEAT REPUBLICANS’

by TONY LEE28 Feb 2015

After his riveting address at Saturday’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Mark Levin declared on Breitbart News Saturday that conservatives will never defeat Democrats without first defeating the Republican establishment.

The conservative icon, scholar, and talk radio host earlier told CPAC attendees that, “we’re here today because we are losing our republic and we’re the Sunshine Patriots who seek to restore it.” Levin has urged Republicans to nominate a true conservative in 2016 for the first time since Ronald Reagan, and he noted that “in order to get a Reagan we had to defeat the Bushes.”

“People need to understand that in order to defeat the Democrats, we have to defeat the Republicans,” Levin told co-hosts Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon on the one-year anniversary of the program. “We don’t get a chance to defeat the Barack Obamas and the Hillary Clintons if we don’t defeat the Republican establishment.”

Levin ripped the Republican establishment who he said “shares our rhetoric” but “not our principles” for “surrendering” or being conquered by big-government liberalism.

Levin told Marlow and Bannon that “if the Framers were around today, they wouldn’t even recognize this government” because “it’s not really a constitutional republic.” He said just like the signers of the Declaration of Independence wanted the world to know about their grievances against King George, he “wanted the whole world… to know what our case is against Barack Obama” in his CPAC address because “it is a compelling case against a man who is increasingly tyrannical.”

In his CPAC speech, Levin shredded Obama for violating the separation of powers, seizing legislative powers granted to Congress, violating Congress’s power of the purse, defying the Senate’s confirmation powers regarding judicial appointments, evading the Senate’s role in the adoption of treaties, eviscerating immigration law, and showing nothing but contempt for the Bill of Rights, private property and the free market by nationalizing the Internet and health care. Levin also accused Obama of “dividing and balkanizing” America on “race, gender, age, and income” in order to “excite jealousies, animosities, and hatred for political advantage.”

In his address, Levin said the “hour’s late… and the republic is slipping away,” and he wondered if it was too much, “in the face of increasing tyranny,” to “ask the Republican Party, its leaders, its chairman, its operatives, its consultants… to defend us and defend the Constitution and the republic.”

“Is it too much to ask the Republican Party to embrace conservatism, Reaganism, capitalism, and constitutionalism?” Levin said. “Is it too much to ask the Republican Party to reject crony capitalists and the statist media?”

Levin said that it is “time to remove the old bulls and bring in the patriots” so that a new Republican Party can “offer a real alternative to a big, centralized and iron-fisted government.”

“No more excuses. No more whining. No more lying to the electorate to get elected. It’s time to represent the people,” Levin said. “No more crony deals with the U.S. Chamber of crony capitalism.”

He noted that Reagan, who touted his “bold” brand of conservatism at CPAC, was not accepted by the GOP establishment for daring to challenge a sitting moderate Republican president.

“Reagan was an outisder and he argued for a new Republican Party,” Levin said. “He saw that the establishment had lost its way and was not connecting with the American people, that it could not be counted on to promote our fundamental principles.”

Levin said that Reagan “took on a sitting president of the United States and the establishment was furious and hellbent on defeating him in 1980.”

“Reagan was opposed by a prominent family who seeks to occupy the White House for the third time,” Levin said, referring to the Bushes.

The greatest divide between the permanent political class and Main Street is the amnesty issue. And Jeb Bush, the establishment’s top choice, has embraced his pro-amnesty stance, telling donors that he will not back down from it because he is willing to “lose the primary to win the general” election. Like his father, he is associating himself with donors and operatives who disdain conservatives.

“The only dynasty I like is the Duck Dynasty,” Levin, who won the Inaugural Andrew Breitbart Defender of the First Amendment Award last year, said of the family whose patriarch won it this year. He also said that in the 1980s that George Will referred to Reagan conservatives as “kamikazes.”

“Well, George, the kamikazes are back,” Levin declared.

And Bush ripped Bush on immigration and pointedly emphasized that conservatives must stop succumbing to the left’s “phony language” that the GOP establishment also loves. he said America is not a “nation of immigrants.”

“We’re not a nation of immigrants,” Levin said. “We’re a nation of citizens. A nation of immigrants who become citizens. We are a nation of citizens. And I am sick and tired of American citizens being demenaed and treated as second-class citizens and anyone who crosses the border treated as the most virtuous human beings on the face of the earth.”

Referring to Bush, Levin blasted “putative Republican presidential candidates who demean American citizens, referring to us essentially as lazy and racist” while “themselves rejecting the belief of American exceptionalism, insisting that the nation owes its current and future generations–if not existence–to uninterrupted, massive waves of low-skilled and unskilled aliens from the third world.”

“This has never been the American experience,” Levin declared, adding that “immigration is to be managed, limited and gradual” to “allow for assimilation and Americanization.”

“You see, Mr. Bush,” Levin said. “We love our country too.”

After blasting the Bush family’s “arrogance and elitism” for thinking a third member of their family deserves to be in the White House, Levin wondered why Bush, who he said would just be a manager of a growing government, would not give a full speech on the merits of amnesty to conservative activists if “he is so certain” about his views.

Levin told the Breitbart News Saturday hosts that “no nation is a nation of immigrants” because there “would be absolute anarchy and chaos” without a common set of beliefs.

On no issue has Obama, who has enacted two executive amnesties, “eviscerated” the constitution more than on immigration, and Levin called out the president in his CPAC address.

“Mr. Obama, you have contravened Congress’s authority over immigration and naturalizatiion, evisverating existing immigration laws and American sovereignty, endangering the well-being of the Ameican people in a blatanat pursuit of a self-serving political agenda,” Levin thunderously said.

To exemplify why conservatives need to defeat the Republican establishment before they can defeat Democrats, Levin said on Breitbart News Saturday that Republicans promised in the 2014 midterm elections that they would fight against executive amnesty and things would change if Americans gave them back control of Congress. Republicans, though, “have done nothing” to fight Obama since getting their majority back, Levin said. He said the GOP establishment “do their fan dances” and “think we’re entertained by them.”

“We’re not,” Levin said, shredding the Republican establishment for having “no guts and principles” for allowing Obama and Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid for running circles around them on the executive amnesty issue, among many others.

In the 2016 election cycle, Levin said that conservatives cannot wait until the end of the cycle to rally around a conservative. He said the establishment will pick conservatives off before that because they have more money and are better organized even though they “don’t have the people.”

Levin, citing Thomas Paine and the seminal Battle of Trenton, laid out the case for why Americans should fight to preserve the Constitution. He said that “people just think we have this constitution” without realizing that “men fought for this constitution” for eight and a half years during the Revolutionary War.

“We own that Constitution,” Levin said during his speech. “We own this country. And you, Mr. Obama, do not have any legitimate authority to fundamentally transform what does not belong to you.”

Levin told CPAC attendees that “my generation owes you a chance to elect a conservative president to begin the logan road back to republicanism and liberty. This has to begin here and has to begin today.”

“We need to nominate a conservative for president of the United States, and I don’t much damn care how we do it,” Levin said.

I like Levin, but we don't need a "new Republican Party". We need a NEW Party. Period.
