Black Pastor Accused Of Fraud Cries Racism As City Tries To Shut Down His Health Hazard Of A Church

By Brian Anderson, January 31, 2015.

A black man of the cloth, accused of cheating the government, and who makes wild racism allegations? No, this is not a story about Al Sharpton, but rather Cicero, IL Bishop Herman Jackson. The pastor, who is facing federal fraud charges, is accusing the city of racism for trying to shut down his decaying church.

CBS Chicago reports that the City of Cicero is attempting to shut down the ironically named Ark Of Safety Apostolic Faith Temple for outrageous code violations. City spokesman Ray Hanania calls the dilapidated church a “safety nightmare.”

The church, run by Bishop Herman Jackson…has no water, heat, or electricity, according to a statement from the town.

It also has damaged and collapsed ceilings; mold and water damage to the walls; and garbage and filth strewn throughout the building.

So pastor Jackson doesn’t like paying his bills? Yet another parallel to Al Sharpton. Speaking of which:

He said he believes the church is being targeted, because it is a black congregation.

“I think that the town of Cicero has been trying to get the only African-American church out of the town of Cicero since we got here,” he said. “On so many situations, they have been uncompromisable, and been rude.”

Far from being racist, rude, or uncompromisable (?) the city has been trying hard to work with Jackson to keep the church open.

“We have bent over backwards to help the pastor keep his church open, because we care about the congregation. Last Sunday, we allowed services in the church portion of the building, which also includes a shuttered day-care center, on his promise that he would have contractors make repairs this week. Nothing has been done,” said Hanania.

Thanks for nothing, right? The city is trying to help this guy out and all he can do is accuse them of racism. That sounds like somebody else I know. I wonder if pastor Jackson has a pompadour and wears jogging suits and gold chains. Probably, check this out:

Meantime, Jackson is facing federal tax fraud charges, and was forced to apologize to a federal judge in July 2013, after seemingly threatening her in comments to the Chicago Sun-Times, when he said “the wrath of God almighty shall soon visit her home.”

Jackson and his wife are accused of plotting to swindle the state out of child care subsidies through the church’s daycare centers.

This guy couldn’t be any more Sharpton if he tried. Doesn’t pay his bills? Check. Cheats the government? Check. Blames all of his problems on non-existent racism? Double check. That’s the Sharpton Method executed flawlessly.

The City of Cicero plans to condemn the church this weekend. If only the real Al Sharpton would come in and save the day so parishioners could risk their lives in a dangerous and unhealthy church.

Last summer in Detroit we learned that cutting off utilities to people who don’t pay their bills is racist, and now we find out that enforcing health and safety code is an equally bigoted crime. I don’t know how this country can live with itself.
