Since corn snakes eat mice, and Australia is PLAGUED with mice, what's the problem?


Australia has had some pretty bad experiences with imported species going nutso on local flora and fauna.  Those snakes mind find something tastier and easier to catch than mice, but which ought not be et by snakes.
