Rubio’s Senate Bill Paves Way For Obama’s Executive Amnesty Orders

Presidente Barack Obama has followed through with this threat of signing a sweeping executive amnesty order for illegal immigrants with his primetime TV announcement that he would sign the orders on Friday in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Obama’s move was purely political, as he and the Democrats continue to reel over their 2014 midterm election debacle, knowing that jamming through amnesty for illegal immigration would only serve set up Republicans as anti-Hispanic in the eyes of current, and potentially future Hispanic voters, if and when they decided to challenge the President on his executive amnesty orders.
During his address, Obama mentioned that he would push forward with his executive orders because the House of Representatives failed to, or refused to take up and allow a “simple vote” on the controversial and pro-illegal immigration “Gang of 8″ Senate bill cosponsored by Florida Senator Marco Rubio, which Obama said was a fair “compromise.”
Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) appeared on Fox News before Obama’s address, telling Americans that the Senate never sent over Rubio’s “Gang of 8″ immigration bill.
The Senate’s 2013 immigration reform, aka “Gang of 8″ bill, has paved the way for Obama’s executive amnesty orders.
Here is what Rubio stated prior to Obama’s address:
“We need immigration reform. But the right way to do it is to first bring illegal immigration under control by securing the borders and enforcing the laws, then modernizing our legal immigration system. After we do these things, we will eventually have to deal with those here illegally in a reasonable but responsible way. The President’s actions now make all of this harder and are unfair to people in our immigration system who are doing things the right way.”
Sophomore Congressman Ron DeSantis (R-FL) offered a more bare-nuckeled smackdown of Obama’s executive amnesty play:
“The President cannot change the law by fiat. Obama’s edict usurps the legislative power of Congress, damages our constitutional system, and creates a precedent that will likely lead to the further erosion of our liberty.
Would the same Founding Fathers who fought a revolution against George III have created a constitution that permitted the executive to legislate around Congress whenever Congress declined to bend to the executive’s will? President Obama has repeatedly acknowledged that the President can do no such thing, yet tonight he tossed aside his own understanding of our foundational document and has made himself a constitutional outlaw.
What about the voice of the American people? They get no say in this matter even though they decisively repudiated the President’s policies at the polls just a few weeks ago. The President’s illegal executive amnesty is bigger than the 1986 amnesty which was actually passed by Congress and signed by President Reagan. Obama’s arrogance and contempt for the people are breathtaking.
And make no mistake, by issuing work permits to illegal immigrants, the President’s edict will have serious policy consequences: it will fuel more illegal immigration, thereby exacerbating the problem, will further disadvantage legal immigrants and U.S. citizens seeking to utilize our immigration system in accordance with the laws of our land, and will put a downward pressure on the wages of American blue collar workers.”
Obama added that he had the “legal authority as President” to make such a move, stating that Democrat and Republican Presidents before him, passed similar immigration reform measures.
Here is what Obama proposes:
-Additional resources steady the flow of illegal crossing
- To make it easier and faster for high skilled immigrants to stay in the U.S.
-Take steps to deal with illegal aliens already living here
-Grant amnesty for parents living illegally in the U.S. for more than five years, and for those adults who have kids that are U.S. citizens or are legal residents.
The President also added that those who have broken immigration laws “must be held accountable” and that under his watch, deportations have been up by 80%, adding that the focus should be to deport “felons not families,” as well as stating that the idea of rounding up millions of people for deportation wasn’t “realistic.”
Obama pulled out all the stops and used all of the “compassionate” rhetoric he had in his vernacular, saying that it wasn’t right for us to be ” ripping children for their parents arms,” adding that ” immigrants are a net plus for our country and society,” as well as the notion that “they came to work and study, and serve in our military.”
Shouldn’t Americans be more compassionate for those whose first accomplishment in the U.S. upon their arrival, was to break our immigration law?
After all, according to Obama, these illegal immigrants are just poor ” workers who pick our fruit and make our bed.”
President Obama just welcomed every foreigner around the world to come to his newly minted United States of Amigo.
