Rep. James Clyburn's (D-S.C.) Republican challenger referred to same-sex couples as "gremlins" and "bullies" in a Facebook post urging supporters to oppose gay marriage at the polls this fall.

Anthony Culler, the GOP nominee for Clyburn's seat, wrote a Facebook post on Oct. 14 decrying same-sex marriage as "a pestilence that has descended on our society, against our will, by those in the courts and government that do not value the traditional family."

The truth hurts. I don't see one thing wrong with that statement.

Let's not kid ourselves. Culler is a paper candidate who is only getting attention because he spoke ill of the homosexual agenda. As Republican in a Democratic district against a House stalwart of a certain unassailable race, he never had any chance of winning anyway.

Very true.  However it should be noted that liberals love to take such quotes and spread them around to Republican candidates in general.  Probably too late for the upcoming election, but like grabbing hold of Romney's high school days, they'll keep it for '16, and use it to put Republicans on the defensive, who will simply want to bury their opinions on the subject.  They know that in just about every poll, most Americans now favor same-sex marriage.

Here is an interesting site, which aggregates polling information, by topic. On marriage, it has....

Gallup and Pew go back for many years, and the results shown, prove the changes in public opinion.

Increasingly "conservatives," "Republicans" hold views which are only agrred to by a smaller, and smaller minority of Americans.

He is absolutely correct.  The homofacists are bullies to the extreme.

Yeah, regardless of what one's personal feelings about the issue are, as a campaign issue especially in the next presidential election it's a non-starter.

Mr. Culler will get no disagreement from me.

If I resided in his district, I'd crawl on broken glass to vote for him.
