The generations that pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honors on behalf of American exceptionalism viewed the rainbow as the symbol of God’s mercy after the judgment that was Noah’s flood.
Nowadays the rainbow is symbolic of judgment again. Except this time no mercy is forthcoming from the cultural Marxists who have hijacked it. They seek to ruthlessly banish from public life any who still believe as those who founded America once did.
See, everything we social conservatives warned you years ago would happen if we went down the Rainbow Road is now here.
When we warned you granting a “right” to sexual perversion would lead to a fight over redefining marriage, the ruling class snickered. But it did, just as we predicted. When we warned you the battle over redefining marriage would lead to a debate over whether gender exists at all, the ruling class again snickered. But it has, just as we predicted.
And when we warned you the end game of this moral chaos was silencing public religious expression in America altogether, thus undermining the first freedom that is the basis for our Constitution, the ruling class didn’t just snicker but belly-laughed. Yet here we are, just as we predicted.
Just ask Donald and Evelyn Knapp, ordained Christian ministers in Idaho who run the Hitching Post wedding chapel. They’re facing jail time because they refuse to violate Biblical moral teaching by marrying homosexuals in their chapel.
Just ask Robert and Cynthia Gifford, a Christian couple facing a $13,000 fine by the state of New York for refusing to rent out their own home to lesbians who wanted to get married there.
Just ask Senior Master Sgt. Phillip Monk, a 19-year Air Force veteran who is facing a court-martial because his lesbian commander didn’t like the answer she commanded him to give. What was the question? She ordered him to share his views on the definition of marriage, and Sgt. Monk was read his Miranda rights and relieved of his duties as a result of what he said.
Just ask four pastors in Houston, who had both their sermons and private communications subpoenaed by the city’s lesbian mayor, who’s seeking anything to do with “homosexuality” or “gender identity.”
The cultural Marxists promised us no one would lose their God-given rights by granting people the made-up right to be godless, but now their answer is “if it does happen you deserve it you bigot.”
There are plenty more examples of this new “tolerance” – which looks a lot like the old tyranny. What was once considered ridiculous or creepy is our new normal. Like the case of Clay Scott Francis, a 47-year-old man in Washington state who prefers to be a woman named “Colleen.” Under a state college’s twisted definition of “civil rights,” Mr. Francis was allowed to “sprawl out in a sauna exposing” his penis to girls as young as 6 years old.
“This is not 1959 Alabama,” Mr. Francis told a local television station, comparing those offended by his perversion with the racial discrimination that marred our past. “We don’t call police for drinking from the wrong water fountain.”
No, Mr. Francis, we don’t. But we still call the cops on creeps who expose themselves — especially to children. Check that, we used to uphold common decency. However, the college actually sided with Mr. Francis. Because, diversity.
The paragons of political correctness know if the American people truly got wind of these stories, and were informed of the creepiness and tyranny behind the propaganda, they wouldn’t stand for it. Just as they wouldn’t stand for a Jewish deli owner being ordered to handle and provide non-Kosher foods. Just as they wouldn’t stand for a black restaurateur being ordered to cater a KKK meeting. Just as they wouldn’t stand for a homosexual business owner being ordered to print T-shirts celebrating the now deceased hate-monger Fred Phelps.
Except most of the American people don’t know, because most of the media are all in for the rainbow jihad. There is still some that will portray both sides of the argument fairly, but even on Fox News recently Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council spent as much time debating moderator Chris Wallace as he did the attorney for the cultural Marxists.
By the way, that attorney was none other than Ted Olson, the former solicitor general for President George W. Bush. A man who wouldn’t have been elected to the presidency twice without the overwhelming support he received from this country’s evangelical Christians. But there was Mr. Olson on Fox, a network whose record ratings are at least partially due to support from the very Bible-believing Christians being threatened by Mr. Olson’s clients, saying that as long as believers obey the state and not God they have nothing to fear from state-sponsored persecution.
With Republican “friends” like Mr. Olson, who needs Nero?
When men like Mr. Olson turn their backs on the very support base that made them politically relevant in the first place, there is clearly no road back for America now. Either we will return to the morality that made liberty possible here, or we will take this highway to Hell to its ultimate destination. And it’s not because the Christians aren’t willing to co-exist. Quite the contrary, we’re the people who make perpetually smiling charlatans and prosperity pimps multimillionaires, remember?
Rather, it is the side screaming “tolerance” at the top of its lungs – while it displays total intolerance – driving this runaway train. They are making it clear to all those with an ear to hear they won’t stop until public religious expression is eradicated from all forms of American life. Unless that religion conforms to their Marxist progressive one, of course.
The cultural Marxist motto is “you will be made to care.” Now it’s mine as well.
In recent years, numerous national media outlets have profiled my alleged influence in Iowa’s first-in-the-nation presidential caucuses, and I’m going to use whatever influence I actually have on behalf of the millions of my fellow believers out there. Soon, many of those seeking the presidency in 2016 will be vying for my attention and support. So I’m going to make sure each one of them goes on the record regarding the very religious liberty our Constitution is supposed to protect. Someone’s tax or jobs plan is irrelevant when we’re facing hefty fines and/or jail time just for obeying the very God one of these candidates will swear their oath of office to.
If we will be made to care, then I will do my part to make sure those running for the highest office in the land will be made to care as well. If they can’t be counted on to preserve and protect the First Amendment, they won’t defend the rest of them either.
