Ebola-Stricken Dallas Nurse Nina Pham Expected to Be Moved to Maryland: Source

Nina Pham, one of the two nurses who contracted Ebola in Dallas, is expected to be moved to a National Institutes of Health isolation unit in Bethesda, Maryland, a federal official with direct knowledge of the plans told NBC News on Thursday.

The transfer could happen later Thursday, but the official cautioned that plans were evolving. Pham, 26, was diagnosed with the virus on Sunday after treating Thomas Eric Duncan, who contracted Ebola in Liberia, flew to Dallas and later died.

The other nurse who contracted Ebola in Dallas, Amber Vinson, was flown on Wednesday to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. The Emory and NIH units are two of the four facilities in the United States that are specially equipped to handle Ebola.

She going to the National Institute of Health Center, in Bethesda, Maryland...across the street from the Naval Hospital and the new Walter Reed facility.

IMO, she'll hopfully serve as a 'factory' for obtaining the necessary cure.....like the monkey in the movie OUTBREAK (Dustin Hoffman, Rene Russo, Morgan Freeman)

Mr. Duncan died because the surviving doctor that was cured in Atlanta...his blood was not a match.

My reading of it too. I fully expect there to be additional "antibody breeders" segregated and well fed in Africa too, to cover the difference in blood make-up and blood types. Most of that region is rife with sickle cell anemia - a handy mutation to help resist malaria, but it weakens already barely functioning immune systems against hemorrhagic fevers.

I am mildly curious as to if there has been a spike in the number of strokes or DVT in the affected countries. Not that such information would be readily available.
