In 2010, the Obama administration scrapped a set of recommendations from the Center for Disease Control meant to improve containment protocols should the United States face a communicable disease threat from overseas. Indeed – the very thing now happening with the Ebola virus. Apparently it was not enough for Barack Obama to personally throw the Middle East into the chaos of Islamic radicals killing thousands of innocents. No, his incompetence felt the need to extend to this nation’s disease prevention defenses as well.
According to a report via the Daily Caller, the plan was initiated during the Bush administration, motivated then by the Bird Flu pandemic. It would have granted the federal government the power of “provisional quarantine” should the United States face a communicable disease threat – like Ebola.
The CDC pushed aggressively for the Obama administration to grant final approval so the new rules and protocols could be put in place.
Apparently, President Obama scrapped the plan amid pressure from airline lobbyists and the ACLU.
And now with the current Ebola outbreak, we are literally living “the rest of the story…”
