Hell March: Climate Change Loons To Descend On Cold Weekend In NYC

global-warming-hoax

March of the penguins is more fun to watch.  Just saying…

Via Yahoo News:

Celebrities, activists and political leaders are expected to join more than 100,000 people in New York Sunday for what could be the largest climate change protest in history, organizers said.

Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, former US vice president turned advocate Al Gore, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio are due to take part in the “People’s Climate March.”

They’re asking marchers to assemble in six main groups. Some of the groups? “The Science Is Settled” group (otherwise known as the “how dare you confuse rabid belief with facts” group). The “We Have The Solutions” group (social justice activists, stand here!). And of course, the “We Know Who Is Responsible” group (hint: it’s the evil capitalists, don’t ya know?).

Among the many groups some of our favorite people: CAIR, SEIU and the Democratic Socialists.

What a surprise.  The environuts always trash the place when they have a march or event.

Al Gore Leaves People's Climate March in Chevy Suburban SUV

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/09/22/Al-Gore-Leaves-Climate-March-in-Chevy-Suburban-SUV

by Kerry Picket 22 Sep 2014, 1:19 PM PDT

Former Vice President Al Gore made his exit from Sunday's climate change march in New York City in a Chevrolet Suburban SUV after speaking to reporters about renewable energy.

Gore asked a security officer, "You want me here?" before stepping into the SUV, which appears to be a Suburban LT model, as seen in a logo behind the passenger door Gore entered. It is unknown if the large Chevy SUV was a flex fuel vehicle.

Breitbart News asked the environmental activist about the financial costs of renewable energy, as well as his own house—a mansion in Nashville which has previously been criticized for the amount of energy it reportedly uses. Gore simply replied, "Hundred percent."

Gore marched with global warming protesters at the People's Climate March along with Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT), and United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon, among various celebrities. De Blasio praised Gore's work during a press gaggle at the march.

The march began at different locations in New York City, from the Upper East Side of Manhattan to Columbus Circle. Attendees walked to 11th Avenue and 34th street among gigantic puppets and costumed individuals demanding more stringent environmental regulations. Mayor de Blasio presented his plan, which he claims would cut carbon emissions 80 percent by 2050, that could include mandating private sector buildings to be retrofitted.

He could travel in a GM Tahoe or Escalade Hybrid version. Or Lexus hybrid SUV.

Even better for emissions would be an Audi, VW, Mercedes or BBW turbo diesel SUV.

The future is here now. About 40% of electric vehicles are in California. And a lot of hybrids, from all the manufacturers. More coming.

VW recently introduced a gas-hybrid version of their Jetta. Tesla has other models coming soon, including a crossover.

And I know plenty of conservatives that are getting them.

My wealthy brother drives a Porsche Panamera 4. I told him they have a hybrid version. He said he'd wait for the plug-in electric, said to be coming.

All that was to show that The AlGore could do conservation and clean driving, if he wasn't a hypocritical bafoon.

Then there are the Hydrogen Fuel Cell cars that is coming out.. I think there should be all type of cars for people to choose imho. I don't want to be in a car that I want by force.

There is technology, then there is proved technology.

Gas-hybrid is proved. Toyota has more than 2 million hybrids on the road, for example.

And I agree, the experimentation on the road and in the marketplace is great.

There is a new BMW i3 which is a plug-in electric, with the option of a small onboard gas engine to extend range.

I think BMW was working on hydrogen fuel cell too.

Leonardo DiCaprio Pauses Private Jets, Yachting With Oil-Rich Sheikhs To Join People’s Climate March

Posted By Eric Owens On 9:47 PM 09/21/2014 In | No Comments

It’s been a crazy, busy, gas-guzzling summer for Leonardo DiCaprio, the famous actor and environmental activist.

On Sunday, as the summer wound down, the mega-rich DiCaprio (estimated net worth: $220 million) was in New York City to join a mile-long swath of protesters for the People’s Climate March, reports the Daily Mail.

At the very beginning of this summer, in mid-June, DiCaprio jetted into Brazil on a private plane to take in the opening match of the 2014 World Cup.

While in Brazil, the 39-year-old plump playboy stayed on a 470-foot yacht owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi, according to Arab News. The glitzy yacht, called the Topaz, is the fifth-biggest yacht on earth. The fancypants vessel boasts a gym, a movie theater, two helipads and three swimming pools.

Sheikh Mansour, the deputy prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, has a net worth of over $30 billion. That staggering wealth comes primarily from oil. Mansour leads the International Petroleum Investment Company. Many of his other business interests are also oil-related. (And he owns the Manchester City Football Club.)

Mansour, DiCaprio and 21 of DiCaprio’s friends traveled in the $400 million yacht to Sao Paulo for the first World Cup game between Brazil and Croatia. Despite the belly, DiCaprio looked stunning, according to Arab News. He was wearing a Brazilian flag-themed scarf.

After the soccer match, DiCaprio was spotted strolling the beach with two women.

At the climate-change march on Sunday in New York City, DiCaprio marched with an estimated 100,000 other protesters including Big Apple Mayor Bill de Blasio and United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

The mid-day march, through midtown Manhattan along Central Park, occurred just two days before a United Nations summit on Tuesday at which world leaders will discuss how to decrease carbon emissions that scientists concerned about global warming believe threaten the environment.

Protesters held signs saying things such as “keep the oil in the ground” and “stop tar sands.”

“Climate change is an existential threat to New Yorkers and our planet,” Mayor de Blasio said, according to the Mail. “Acting now is nothing short of a moral imperative.”

According to The New York Times, air travel is an egregious “environmental sin” — the worst one committed by most members of the hoi polloi. A round-trip, commercial flight from New York to, say, San Francisco creates about three tons of carbon dioxide per passenger, the Times estimates, and those three tons equal about 15 percent of the annual warming effect registered by a typical American.

The distance from New York City to Rio de Janeiro is close to twice the distance from New York to San Francisco.

The Times does not delve into the increased carbon dioxide per passenger caused by private jets, or huge yachts.

Similar climate change parades took place across the globe in many countries including Belgium, India, Turkey and Australia.

I did a solo protest of AlGore when he ran for president. When he finally arrived at the fundraiser (late), it was in a caravan of about 10 Suburbans.

NBC’s Williams Praises Global Warming Marchers Despite ‘Mountains of Trash Left Behind’

By Curtis Houck | September 23, 2014 | 3:52 PM EDT

During the Monday night newscasts of the major broadcast networks, both CBS and NBC provided coverage of the far-left global warming marchers in New York City who sought to draw attention their liberal environmental causes and their disdain for Wall Street.

Leading the way in promoting them was NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, who told viewers in a 25-second news brief that the “coordinated marches calling attention to climate change drew some huge crowds in big cities” and brushed off the fact that there were “nay-sayers pointing to the mountains of trash left behind and the carbon footprint of the traffic jams that were caused by the march” as reason to criticize the hundreds of thousands marching. [MP3 audio here; Video below]

Williams said further that “nonetheless,” the protesters were able to create “a big coordinated statement” as “the events and awareness campaign continued” into Tuesday.

Over on the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley, the program had a 21-second news brief in addition to a 4-second tease leading into the commercial break just prior. Anchor Scott Pelley said this about the marchers:

Today, thousands stopped traffic on Wall Street to warn that climate change is ruining the Earth. They blame big business for that. Police kept the protesters away from the New York Stock Exchange and arrested some who blocked the road. Yesterday, hundreds of thousands marched peacefully in New York and other cities to draw attention to climate change.

Before Monday night, the “big three” of ABC, CBS, and NBC aired a total of 3 minutes and 27 seconds on the march between NBC Nightly News and ABC World News Tonight on September 21 and CBS This Morning and ABC’s Good Morning America on September 22. That total was four and a half times the coverage given to the March for Life in January when NBC and ABC aired news briefs lasting a combined 46 seconds.

The complete transcript of the news brief that aired on NBC Nightly News on September 22 is transcribed below.

BRIAN WILLIAMS: Yesterday's coordinated marches calling attention to climate change drew some huge crowds in big cities, that includes an estimated 400,000-plus here in New York and while there were nay-sayers pointing to the mountains of trash left behind and the carbon footprint of the traffic jams that were caused by the march, it was a big coordinated statement nonetheless and the events and awareness campaign continued today.

The relevant portions of the transcript that mentioned the global warming and Wall Street protests on the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley on September 22 are transcribed below.
