Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke: Eric Holder “Owes Every Officer In America An Apology”

While visiting Ferguson, Missouri yesterday, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder told reporters he “personally” understands the “sense of mistrust and mutual suspicion that can take hold in the relationship between law enforcement and certain communities.”

It’s that kind of “irresponsible” and “inflammatory” rhetoric that lead Milwaukee County sheriff David Clarke to demand an apology from Holder, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon, and Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill.

Clarke contends that Holder and others have made a bad situation in Ferguson worse by “insinuating that our law-enforcement officers across the United States engage in some nefarious or systematic and cultural attempts to violate people’s civil rights.”

Clarke’s truthful words come just as we learned today that America’s biggest race-baiter, Al Sharpton, has been working with the Obama administraiton as a “liaison” in Ferguson.

Clarke called Holder’s comments “a slap in the face to every law-enforcement officer in America who puts on the badge and the uniform everyday to go out and risk their lives in service to their community.”

Serving as a law enforcement professional since 1978, Clarke says the officers that he “knows of, that go out and serve their community, do not have that kind of maliciousness in their hearts.”

“I thought that was a poor display in terms of leadership,” he concluded.
