Muslim convert arrested for murder of 2 Gay men in Seattle and now a suspect in a 4th murder, says he was conducting a “jihad against Americans”
Ali Mohammed Brown, an American convert to Islam, who already is in jail and charged with the murder of two homosexual men in Seattle’s Central District and a young woman in New Jersey, is now the prime suspect in a fourth homicide.
King5 (h/t Cynthia B) Ali Muhammad Brown is currently in jail on $5 million bail for the alleged murder of a college student in late June. Brown has already been charged with gunning down two men at 29th and King Street in Seattle’s Leschi neighborhood on June 1.
NJ.com The man accused of gunning down a Livingston college student is now facing yet another murder charge related to the shooting death of a Washington man two months earlier, authorities said. Ali Muhammad Brown, 29, is now accused of a total of four murders, including the shooting of 19-year-old Brendan Tevlin in West Orange on June 25.
The latest charge against him was filed in King County, Wash., accusing him of shooting 30-year-old Leroy Henderson 10 times on April 27, and leaving him to die on a stretch of road outside Seattle known as the Skyway. According to court documents, detectives went weeks without a clear suspect in the slaying, until 9-millimeter shell casings found next to Henderson’s body were matched a handgun used to kill Tevlin and two other Seattle-area men, Ahmed Said and Dwone Anderson-Young.
Authorities arrested Ali Muhammad Brown in New Jersey for executing two homosexuals in Seattle. He is reportedly a radical Muslim and received jihadist training in California in April. It is unclear who trained Brown, where it took place and what it consisted of. All that is publicly known about his ideological path is that he is accused of the premeditator murder of two homosexuals on June 1. Brown lured in his victims using a phone app named Grindr that uses GPS coordinates to facilitate meetings between homosexuals. Sources say King County prosecutors are about to charge him with another homicide, the drive-by shooting of Leroy Henderson, who was killed walking in Seattle’s Skyway neighborhood on April 27. Brown was arrested July 18 at a homeless camp in New Jersey. Multiple sources with knowledge of the investigation say Brown told police he carried out the murders because he was on a jihad to kill Americans.
Henderson’s father, also named Leroy, said his son had moved to Seattle from Gary, Indiana six months before his murder. He also indicated the King County Prosecutor’s Office called him earlier Tuesday and said charges were planned for the following day. At the scene of Henderson’s murder, family members gathered to pay respects. Henderson’s mother was also a murder victim thirty years before his death, and her killer was not found for two decades.
After the Leschi area murders in June, police launched an extensive search for Brown, a transient and Level One sex offender known to frequent south King County.
