Bill Clinton Now Enjoys $1,000 Cigars

Bill Clinton enjoys a Gurkha cigar, "the Rolls Royce of the cigar industry." He "loves the Gurkhas," Gurkha chief executive officer Kaizad Hansotia, maker of the HMR cigar, which stands for His Majesty's Reserve. It is, according to Hansotia, "the world's most expensive cigar."

One box is $25,000 -- and the price will rise next year to $30,000. "The cigars are close to $1,000 each," says the cigar boss to Bloomberg.

"People try to copy us a lot, but we have no competition," says Hansotia. "We tell everybody, please smoke a Cuban cigar. And then smoke our cigars. And once they've smoked a Cuban And then once they smoke a Gurkha, or they smoke a cigar from Dominican Republic, they realize what a difference in quality it is. It's a very unique smell. It's a very unique flavor. Completely different than anything you've ever smoked in your life. So if you ever have the pleasure of smoking one, you will understand the difference in taste of a normal cigar to an HMR."

Although Hansotia confirms Clinton "loves" the cigar, the cigar boss does not say whether the former president has ever smoked one of them.
