Obama: Beheading by Incredibly Popular Muslim Terror Group has Nothing to do with Islam

Thanks Barack.

“Let’s be clear about ISIL.  They have rampaged across cities and villages — killing innocent, unarmed civilians in cowardly acts of violence.  They abduct women and children, and subject them to torture and rape and slavery.  They have murdered Muslims — both Sunni and Shia — by the thousands.  They target Christians and religious minorities, driving them from their homes, murdering them when they can for no other reason than they practice a different religion.  They declared their ambition to commit genocide against an ancient people.”

In other words they’re practicing traditional Islam as it was practiced by Mohammed.

“ISIL speaks for no religion,” Obama claims.

Except ISIS is ridiculously popular among Muslims. It has gained control of parts of Iraq and Syria because Muslims support it. It’s part of a rising trend of Islamist popularity that Obama endorsed with the Arab Spring.

ISIS doesn’t speak for all Muslims, but for Obama to pretend that it’s an un-Muslim aberration is ahistorical and delusional.

“Their victims are overwhelmingly Muslim, and no faith teaches people to massacre innocents.  No just God would stand for what they did yesterday, and for what they do every single day.  ISIL has no ideology of any value to human beings.  Their ideology is bankrupt.”

No just God would, but Allah does.

Islam defines innocents rather differently and it has a long history of killing and enslaving non-Muslim civilians.

Obama then goes on to claim that the future belongs to people like James Foley, who just got beheaded, not ISIS. That’s a nice speech, but in fact James Foley is dead and until Obama belatedly intervened, ISIS was advancing on Erbil and Baghdad.

The future doesn’t belong to pacifists. It belongs to those willing to fight for it. Islam is based entirely on that premise. ISIS is driven by that understanding.

Until we understand that, we’ll continue to be the noble victims of Islamic terrorists whom our leaders will pretend have nothing to do with Islam.

There is no grievance that is a fit object of redress by mob law.
--January 27, 1838 Lyceum Address

Don't interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties. And not to Democrats alone do I make this appeal, but to all who love these
great and true principles.

Let us then turn this government back into the channel in which the framers of the Constitution originally placed it.
