Only Racists Turned the Term ‘ Redskin ‘ Into a Racial Term

Revisionist historians prefer to say that the Redskin moniker is a derogatory racial name for all American Indians, when in fact their skin tone was and still is more of a tawny, brownish, color.

The fact of the matter is that American Indians actually applied red paint to their faces, which has nothing to do with race.

The first man to cross the continent, Cabeza de Vaca, long before the Pilgrims arrived wrote:

My principal wares were cones and other pieces of sea-snail, conchs used for cutting, sea-beads, and a fruit like a bean [from mesquite trees] which the Indians value very highly, using it for a medicine and for a ritual beverage in their dances and festivities. This is the sort of thing I carried inland. By barter I got and brought back to the coast skins, red ochre which they rub on their faces, hard canes for arrows, flint for arrowheads, with sinews and cement to attach them, and tassels of deer hair which they dye red.

If Cabeza de Vaca wrote this back in the 1500′s, then surely, other white men who came along later encountered the same phenomenon.

If you go over to the Wikipedia site, there is narry a mention of Cabeza de Vaca and what he wrote about the red ochre paint used by American Indians to paint their skin red.

Sometimes a name isn’t completely literal.  Members of the Blackfoot Indian tribes do not, and did not have black feet.  If the Blackfoot Nation were to have a more literal name, instead of Blackfoot, they would be called Dark moccasin wearing Indians, but of course, it’s more convenient to call them Blackfoot, or Blackfeet.

More and more the politically correct meddlers and politicians are reaching into every aspect of our lives.  They seem to ‘vant to control’ just about everything.

Mike Ditka has it right. The PC crowd has taken an honorable name and turned it into a circus show.

It's what they do, it's all they do, and they won't stop...EVER!!
November 6, 2012, a day in infamy...the death of a republic as we know it.
