Billionaire Democracy Alliance Founding Member Maxes Out to Alan Grayson

A billionaire member of the liberal dark money club the Democracy Alliance maxed out to an ostensibly populist Democratic firebrand in August.
Rep. Alan Grayson (D., Fla.) likes to rail on “billionaires” supposedly buying U.S. elections, but he’s fine taking money from such benefactors.
Pat Stryker, heir to a medical device fortune and a founding Democracy Alliance member, wrote Grayson two checks for $2,600 apiece in August, recent Federal Election Commission filings show.
The Alliance, which Stryker helped form in 2005, pours millions of dollars into the U.S. political system each year.
Its beneficiaries include top political and policy groups, many of which decry the supposedly corrosive influence of money on American democracy.
