Scientists Blow The Lid on Cancer & Sunscreen Myth
« on: August 17, 2014, 05:33:16 PM »
"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
George Washington

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
Benjamin Franklin

Being extremely fair skinned, I use sunblock when I know I'll be out in the sun for long periods of time.  i.e. the beach
Otherwise I go without.  You need the sun.  Look at mental health issues in the winter.

Me too.  If I'm going to be at a swimming pool or the beach, I would use sunscreen or I'd have to go in after 15 minutes - else I would burn to a crisp!

But for when I'm gardening or working outside, I usually just try to be covered up.  I hate the feel of sunscreen, feels like it's suffocating my skin.

As someone  who has moles all over, I try to be very carefully.

Just use some common sense.  If you're going to be out and about for a little while, with stops here and there, leave the sunscreen at home.  If you're going to be out there under the noonday Sun with the mad dogs and Englishmen for a while, slather some on.
