Boehner: Obama ‘not prepared for the job’
 By Kyle Balluck
Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) blasted President Obama’s domestic and foreign policies in a recent radio interview, saying Obama was “not prepared for the job.”

“While the president thinks that giving a speech is leadership, it really isn’t,” Boehner told Scott Hennen of KTGO in North Dakota.

Boehner, who’s in the middle of a multi-state bus tour appearing at events for members and candidates, said the president’s policies have not worked, but “he won’t admit that.“
He said people still asking, ”Where are the jobs?”

The Speaker said the middle class is paying higher prices for healthcare, food and gasoline. Their disposable income is down, he said, holding back the U.S. economy.

Boehner also blamed global tensions on Obama’s “apology tour” five years ago.

“When America leads and America is strong, the world is a much safer place,” he said. “The world wants us to lead.”

“When you look at this White House, you see incompetence at many levels,” Boehner added.

“Democrats, Republicans, nobody has a relationship with the White House,” he said.

“It’s not about Democrats versus Republicans,” Boehner said. “It’s a White House that’s not very well organized and, frankly, not very effective as well.”

“There’s nobody more frustrated than I am, but we’re the minority party,” Boehner added.

“We’ve got some radio talk show hosts … who lead people to believe false things, like we can stop ObamaCare by not funding the government. … leading people to do all kinds of things that are not doable.”

Boehner said he is committed to reforming the country’s “broken” immigration system, but until “we have an administration committed to security the border, it won’t happen.”

“We’ve tried and tried and tried, but he just won’t go there,” he said.

Boehner also said he expects to file a lawsuit “right after Labor Day” to “rebalance” the relationship between Congress and the executive branch.

“We think, working with some legal scholars, we might have a real serious shot here.”

The House Rules Committee last month approved a resolution that would authorize Boehner’s lawsuit against Obama over his use of executive power.

There is danger from all men. The only maxim of a free government ought to be to trust no man living with power to endanger the public liberty.
Public virtue cannot exist in a nation without private, and public virtue is the only foundation of republics. There must be a positive passion for the public good, the public interest, honour, power and glory, established in the minds of the people, or there can be no republican government, nor any real liberty: and this public passion must be superior to all private passions.
