I'm sure this is not a new idea. But if we give away or sell military equipment, would it be too much to ask the designers to build in destruct methods, measures, provisions, codes, etc.?

It's pretty standard to do that for the big stuff. When I "borrowed" Naqam, the first thing a bunch of mechanics did when we got back was crawl all over her looking for hidden nasties. Bombs and bugs in the avionics - they found a few. One couldn't be disabled, so our GPS was a smart phone for quite a while.

Selling weapons - it's pretty much standard to degrade the capabilities a bit, so you still have the edge. Take the new Russian ships the French are delivering - you want to bet if they are state of the art or at least one generation behind?

Well, it would be much cooler to see the f*ckers being roasted alive after seeing the horror on their faces in recognition when they hear the power door locks click down.
