North Korean defectors and South Korean activists launched snack-filled balloons across the border into North Korea Wednesday.

The balloons—containing cookies and Choco Pies, a popular chocolate snack–were launched from the border town of Paju in South Korea.

The Choco Pies, distributed to workers at factories at the Kaesong Industrial Complex, a demilitarized zone, where both South and North Koreans work, were sold on the black market in North Korea and authorities in Pyongyang ordered the factory owners to stop handing them out.
